This week is all about Tick Bite Prevention. But what are these? Ticks look like spiders, but they feed on blood. To feed, they bite onto an animal or human and hang on with their mouth, they will usually feed for a few days and drop off by themselves when they are full.

Ticks can carry and transfer diseases when they bite so it is best they are removed as soon as you notice them on either yourself or your pet.

2. The average lifespan is 4 to 8 years so annual check-ups are vital to keep them fit and healthy.
3. They’re usually very friendly with cute mannerisms like jumping up and down when excited.
4. They only sleep around 4 hours a day so it’s important to provide plenty of space to exercise throughout the day and night.
5. They love company therefore should always have a playmate.
